Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and actually a very busy city with a lot of traffic.
In my opinion 2 days in Kathmandu are enough to see everything.
For my accommodation I had booked a room in the “Glass house hotel“, in Thamel. A decent accommodation, at the best region to stay in Kathmandu, with many restaurants, bars and shops to buy souvenirs and the equipment for your trekking experience.

If you are planning to do a trekking to Everest base camp, I recommend the company “Unique Adventure International P. ltd.”,to organize everything for you, for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Things to see in Kathmandu:

The “Boudhanath Stupa
It’s the largest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal.

The “Pashupatinath Temple
In this Hindu Temple people burn the dead and then they throw their ashes into the Bagmati river.

The “Swayambhunath or monkey Temple
A really beautiful temple, with a great view and lots of monkeys!

The “Durbar square
A beautiful place to visit, which was the royal palace up until the 19th century.

Where to eat in Kathmandu

From the restaurants that I tried, I can recommend:

The Kathmandu kitchen

Mitho Restaurant

Thamel doner kebab

Mo:mola Palpasa coffee

and “Yin Yang restaurant

Chitwan is about 5 hours away from Kathmandu by local bus (the road is very dangerous).
It is a very beautiful village and it’s near Chitwan national park, the perfect place to spend 2 or 3 days and see the amazing wildlife of Nepal and especially the unicorn Rhino.
I personally enjoyed my stay for 2 days in the “Parkland Hotel“.

You can also book your safari directly from the hotel (2 safaris in the morning and one in the afternoon is enough).

Pokhara is a beautiful city built next to the beautiful Phewa Lake.

This city is the starting point to the Annapurna trekking path but there is also some other things to do.

What to do in Pokhara

Like, have a massage by professional blind therapists, at the “Helping Hands Spa“.

Rent a scooter for a day and drive to the “Davis falls“.

Then you can visit “Shanti Stupa“.

And in the evening you can go to the “Sarangkot view point” to view the sunset.

Where to eat in Pokhara

With regards to food, you’ll find really good restaurants on the road by the lake. I recommend to eat at:

The “Moondance restaurant

Fresh elements

and “Queen forest
